Hummus, the healthy and tasty alternative.
It’s perfect for veggies, crackers, even sandwiches. You name it. It’s a good substitute for fatty dips, dressings, and spreads.
This particular recipe uses Peanut Butter instead of the usual Tahini which is ground up sesame seeds. We like it because we always have peanut butter on hand, and it gives it a little bit of a nuttier flavor.
My husband makes this and I only test it when he’s done. He says he just follows the recipe and it comes out great every time. So here you are.
Peanut Butter Hummus
(from Negella Kitchen:From the Heart of the Home via NPR)
Ingredients
2-15 oz cans garbanzo beans, drained
1 clove garlic, peeled
3-5 tbsp olive oil
1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
3 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp salt
2 tsp ground cumin
Directions
Put all ingredients into a blender, and turn on high. Mixture will be thick and so you may need to stop and stir it a bit and blend again. Taste for needed salt or lemon.
Enjoy it with veggies, crackers, sandwiches, you name it.

Thank you for putting this. I haven’t tried hummus with peanut butter rather than tahini. I just purchased garbanzo beans yesterday so I could make hummus and now I have a fabulous new recipe to try. Thank you! Miss you guys!!!!!
