Fudgesicles {with Honey}

When I was a kid I could eat fudgesicle after fudgesicle non-stop. This is probably the reason we didn’t get them very often. I would devour as many as I could before anyone else. Mind you, there were five other kids to share with (er rather, duke it out with) to get one…or three.

Olive Oil and Cocoa Brownies

The other night I was in need of a brownie fix. I didn’t have any butter, a shame I know. I only allow myself so much, otherwise bad things happen, to my rear that is.

Chocolate Chip Cookies with Browned Butter

It’s 10:21pm. I should be in bed. But instead I am waiting for chocolate chip cookies to get out of the oven.

I bought chocolate chips the other day, or at least I attempted to. I put my allotted 1 bag into the grocery cart. When I got home I put all the groceries away.

That night, as I was drifting off to sleep I woke up, thinking, “Did I put the chocolate chips away? Maybe James did. They must have fallen out into the trunk.” The next day I checked but there were no chocolate chips, in fact, they were not even listed on my receipt. Weird. I know I put them in there.

Today I trekked back to the store to finish the job and got what I needed.

{Almost} Homemade Oreos

Homemade Oreos, a special treat.

It’s getting to be the end of the school year again, and I am more than grateful. I am ready to begin summer adventures and lazy days, saying farewell to carpools, schedules, and homework.

My son’s school hosts class picnics toward the end of each school year. I signed up to bring a dessert, no surprise there. When I asked my son, Xavier, what he wanted me to bake for his class picnic, he thought about it for a while and decided upon homemade Oreos.

It was perfect. Homemade Oreos are a special treat not only for kids, but for adults as well. They are easily portable and bring a little excitement to every picnic, and by the way, will be gone in 15 minutes flat.
